Staff Accountant

Essential Functions

• Review accounts payable and receipting entries completed by Specialists
• Process, code and record complex invoices and reimbursement requests
• File monthly sales tax returns for units as required
• Prepare and input journal entries following established accounting procedures
• Perform bank account reconciliations for non-assigned locations
• Review ledgers associated with related funds and accounts

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/related field and two (2) years accounting/related field work experience
• Fluent in computer use with experience in spreadsheet, word processing and computerized accounting systems
• Requires a high level of confidentiality
• Must be a team player, a self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision
• Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment

Physical and Working Conditions

• Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc.
• Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment
