Staff Accountant

Location: Bohemia, NY (Long Island Office). Department: Finance. Reports To: CFO. Job Status: Full Time.
Responsibilities
- Support the Finance team in preparing monthly financial statements
- Assist with month-end close activities, including: Account reconciliations; Journal entries; Balance sheet and P&L analysis
- Help manage accounts receivable processes, including: Invoicing and billing; Tracking payments and aging reports
- Review and validate data to ensure accuracy across systems
- Assist with reviewing customer contracts and order approvals
- Identify and help resolve discrepancies with internal teams and clients
- Support reporting, analysis, and special projects as needed
- Help improve and document accounting processes and workflows
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (recent grads encouraged to apply)
- Internship or academic experience in accounting/finance is a plus
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP knowledge a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data organization)
- Strong communication and willingness to learn
- Ability to take initiative and work in a team environment
Qualifications
- Internship or 1–2 years of accounting experience
- Exposure to accounting systems (NetSuite or similar)
- Interest in pursuing CPA or further certifications
