About the role
This position is based on-site in the Greater Seattle Area.
Responsibilities
- Cash Management and Revenue Accounting
- Perform daily cash reconciliation of bank accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare weekly cash position reports and assist with cash flow forecasting.
- Ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP (ASC 606) and company policy.
- Record and reconcile daily revenue transactions across all channels (cash, credit card, ACH, wire).
- Prepare and post monthly revenue journal entries, including accruals and deferrals.
- Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue and accounts receivable subledgers.
- Aid in revenue reporting and variance analysis for monthly management packages.
- Month-End Close & Reporting
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with the month-end close calendar.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve variances.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain organized work papers and documentation to support internal and external audits.
- Aid in the documentation and maintenance of accounting procedures and desk guides.
- Improve and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement & Compliance
- Identify opportunities to streamline revenue recording and cash reconciliation processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and SOX requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably with a focus on revenue or cash.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, particularly revenue recognition principles (ASC 606).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data reconciliation).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Skills
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, accounting, and internal control concepts.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented with a commitment to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, friendly, professional, and proactive manner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-unit environment.
- CPA candidate or CPA license a plus.
