Staff Accountant

About the role

We're looking for a Senior Staff Accountant who wants to make an impact—not just process transactions. You'll work directly with the Controller, play a key role in the month-end close, collaborate across multiple departments, and have the opportunity to grow into an Accounting Manager role as the company continues to evolve.

Responsibilities

• Preparing journal entries
• Managing month-end close activities
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• Accruals and depreciation entries
• Supporting Accounts Receivable operations
• Financial reporting
• Analyzing discrepancies and identifying solutions
• Collaborating with Purchasing, Customer Service, Education, Returns and Retail Operations
• Assisting with accounting process improvements
• Supporting an upcoming ERP implementation

Requirements

We're looking for someone who already has a solid accounting foundation. Required:

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of:
• General Ledger
• Journal Entries
• Month-End Close
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Financial Statements
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong analytical abilities
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have:

• ERP experience (Sage is a plus)
• Inventory accounting experience
• Experience supporting Accounts Receivable
• Manufacturing, wholesale distribution, retail or consumer products experience

Pay

Salary: $60,000–$70,000
