Staff Accountant
Responsibilities
- Process weekly invoices, ensuring accurate coding and required approvals are obtained.
- Prepare and process monthly owner and subcontractor billings.
- Monitor and manage the Accounts Payable email inbox.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure invoices are properly coded and paid in a timely manner.
- Review subcontractor documentation for compliance prior to payment release.
- Assist with annual audits and maintain organized, accurate financial records.
- Support process improvement initiatives and strengthen internal controls.
- Cross-train with other Finance team members to provide departmental support and coverage.
- Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 1-3 years construction accounting experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping/accounting procedures
- Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- Sage 300 CRE, Procore and Bluebeam experience are a plus
- Resourceful, self-motivated, able to work independently
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Able to prioritize while multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in an office environment for extended periods.
- Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for prolonged periods.
About the Role
