We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a manufacturing-focused finance team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role will contribute to accurate financial reporting, support core close activities, and help maintain reliable accounting records across multiple entities.
Responsibilities
- Manage key month-end accounting activities by preparing entries, reconciling balances, and helping finalize timely financial results.
- Review general ledger activity for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and maintain well-documented account support.
- Complete bank account reconciliations and resolve variances to ensure cash records align with underlying transactions.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and internal reports used by leadership for business review.
- Record and monitor accounting activity across multiple entities, including intercompany transactions and related balancing.
- Provide documentation and support for external audits and other financial review processes.
- Maintain fixed asset records and update supporting schedules to keep documentation accurate and audit-ready.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience in a comparable accounting role.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial business environment.
- Practical knowledge of month-end close processes and day-to-day general ledger accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare journal entries and perform thorough account reconciliations.
- Experience completing bank reconciliations and researching differences to resolution.
- Understanding of core accounting principles and standard financial reporting practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate or advanced Excel skills.
- Experience working with an ERP system in an organizational accounting environment.
