Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support key accounting operations for a contract position based in Boulder, Colorado. This role will contribute to day-to-day financial accuracy by handling core ledger activity, receivables support, and tax-related accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across multiple accounting functions, maintaining organized records, and helping ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records and support period-end close activities.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure reporting integrity.
• Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoice tracking, payment application, and account follow-up.
• Oversee B2B collections efforts by communicating with customers regarding outstanding balances and payment status.
• Review aging reports regularly and escalate or resolve delinquent accounts in a timely manner.
• Assist with corporate tax activities, including supporting documentation for tax filings and related account analysis.
• Support sales tax processes by organizing transaction data, validating tax treatment, and helping maintain compliance records.

Requirements

• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role with responsibility for general ledger activity.
• Practical knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end accounting processes.
• Background in accounts receivable administration, including payment posting and customer account follow-up.
• Familiarity with B2B collections practices and the use of aging reports to manage outstanding receivables.
• Understanding of corporate tax and sales tax support activities within a business accounting environment.
• Ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
