Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger activity, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including reviewing entries, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining timely posting of transactions.
- Perform month-end close tasks such as preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping deliver accurate financial results on deadline.
- Prepare and post journal entries for routine and adjusting transactions while maintaining compliance with accounting policies and GAAP principles.
- Complete bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis, investigate variances, and follow through on corrective action as needed.
- Monitor daily reconciliation activity to confirm the accuracy of cash and other key account balances.
- Use SAP ERP and Excel-based analysis to organize financial data, support reporting needs, and improve the efficiency of accounting workflows.
- Assist with payroll-related accounting activities when needed, including supporting entries and reconciliations tied to payroll transactions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including hands-on work in a staff accountant or similar general accounting role.
- Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close procedures, and financial reconciliations.
- Experience supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions in an operational accounting environment.
- Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate records in accordance with GAAP accounting standards.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and daily balancing with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience using SAP ERP and strong Excel skills, including formulas for analysis and reconciliation work.
- Background in manufacturing or a similarly process-driven industry is preferred.
- Payroll accounting exposure is considered an advantage.
Qualifications
Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
