Staff Accountant
Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries with strong attention to accuracy and supporting documentation.
- Maintain general ledger activity and review account balances to help ensure financial records remain complete and reliable.
- Absorb month-end close tasks, including reconciliations, variance review, and timely completion of assigned deliverables.
- Support accounting processes related to property management operations, including tracking financial activity across assigned properties.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues efficiently.
- Help compile financial statements and internal reports for management review and operational decision-making.
- Partner with internal teams to gather accounting information, answer questions, and improve day-to-day financial accuracy.
Requirements
- Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
- Working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close procedures.
- Background in property management accounting within a real estate or property-related environment.
- Ability to analyze financial data, reconcile accounts, and investigate discrepancies.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for reporting and account analysis.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple assignments.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Additional certifications such as CPA or CMA are a plus. Hands-on experience in property management accounting is essential.

- Accounting software proficiency (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle, etc.)
- Excel and other spreadsheet tools for financial analysis and reporting
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
