Staff Accountant
Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries to maintain accurate financial data within the general ledger.
- Support monthly close activities by reconciling accounts, reviewing balances, and helping deliver timely financial results.
- Manage intercompany accounting transactions and ensure activity is properly documented and balanced.
- Aid in corporate tax processes, including gathering information needed for filings and related reporting.
- Handle sales tax accounting tasks, including reviewing transactions and supporting compliance requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of corporate tax returns by organizing schedules and validating financial details.
- Maintain ledger activity for accuracy and resolve discrepancies through research and account analysis.
Requirements
- Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and preparation of journal entries.
- Hands-on experience supporting month-end close and account reconciliation activities.
- Familiarity with intercompany accounting and the ability to manage related transactions accurately.
- Understanding of corporate tax and sales tax processes, including support for tax return preparation.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review financial information for completeness and accuracy.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial reporting and analysis.
