Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and complete financial records.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and research discrepancies to support month-end and ongoing accounting accuracy.
• Aid in corporate tax activities, including gathering documentation and supporting tax filing preparation.
• Manage sales tax processes by reviewing transactions, tracking obligations, and ensuring timely reporting and remittance.
• Support the preparation of financial data and schedules required for internal reporting and compliance.
• Review accounting transactions for accuracy and proper classification within the general ledger.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to collect financial information and resolve accounting-related issues.
• Maintain organized records and documentation to support audits, tax reporting, and standard accounting procedures.

Requirements

• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
• Knowledge of corporate tax principles and exposure to corporate tax return support.
• Hands-on experience with sales tax reporting and related accounting processes.
• Ability to prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Strong understanding of core accounting practices, reconciliations, and financial documentation.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial analysis and reporting.
