Staff Accountant
About the Role
The Staff Accountant will support month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and general accounting functions while partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization.
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Aid with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
- Help improve accounting processes and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
- Collaborate with operations and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with inventory reconciliations and inventory-related accounting activities when applicable.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1–3 years of accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Experience with ERP systems is a plus. Inventory accounting experience is preferred but not required.
