Responsibilities
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reporting packages for assigned entities, properties, and related ventures.
- Record, review, and post journal entries while maintaining accurate ledgers, recurring entry schedules, and complete supporting documentation.
- Analyze operating results against budget and prior periods, then summarize key variances and financial trends for management review.
- Prepare reconciliations for bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, tenant activity, investment accounts, and brokerage transactions, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain organized workpapers and schedules to support audits, lender reporting, tax preparation, and other external or internal financial requests.
- Track fixed asset activity in the company’s asset management system, including additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, and amortization.
- Manage property-level accounting tasks such as recording tenant payments, updating tenant ledgers, and completing annual reconciliations and estimates tied to assigned properties.
- Absorb cash monitoring, funding needs, forecasting, and budgeting processes to support both operational planning and financial oversight.
- Partner with property management teams, operations staff, asset managers, vendors, lenders, tenants, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and timely issue resolution.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate, property management, or a multi-entity business environment.
- Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, accounts payable activities, invoice coding, invoice processing, and related transactional accounting tasks.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize data, build schedules, and support financial analysis.
- Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, month-end close procedures, and financial statement preparation.
- Ability to investigate variances, resolve accounting issues, and maintain a high level of accuracy across multiple entities and deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage detailed records, supporting documentation, and competing priorities effectively.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both internal teams and external business partners in a detail-focused manner.
Qualifications
- College degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- CPA certification is a plus.
