Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial records across accounting periods.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues to support reliable reporting.
- Aid in corporate tax activities, including gathering documentation and supporting tax return preparation.
- Manage sales tax reporting requirements by reviewing transactions and helping ensure timely filings.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting schedules to strengthen compliance and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review accounting data, clarify variances, and improve reporting accuracy.
- Support grant-related accounting tasks, including tracking financial activity and maintaining proper documentation.
- Contribute to accounting system work within NetSuite, including transaction review, data accuracy checks, and routine processing.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.
- Working knowledge of corporate tax concepts, including exposure to corporate tax return support.
- Experience handling sales tax reporting and related accounting processes.
- Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
- Familiarity with NetSuite or comparable accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in general ledger work, journal entry preparation, and corporate tax processes, along with at least two years of relevant accounting experience.
