Staff Accountant
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Aid in month-end and year-end close activities.
- Analyze financial transactions and ensure proper account classifications.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
- Maintain supporting schedules and accounting documentation.
Account Reconciliations & Accruals
- Prepare monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations.
- Monitor outstanding items and resolve reconciling differences.
- Calculate and record monthly accruals for operating expenses and other liabilities.
- Review account activity and ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
- Aid in variance analysis and financial reporting support.
Forecasting & Financial Analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Analyze operating expenses and identify trends impacting financial performance.
- Prepare financial reports and schedules for management review.
- Aid in monitoring departmental spending against budget expectations.
Accounts Payable
- Review and process vendor invoices in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure accurate coding and approval of invoices.
- Aid in payment processing and vendor account maintenance.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Monitor open accounts and maintain accurate accounts payable records.
Expense Reporting
- Review employee expense reports for accuracy, policy compliance, and proper documentation.
- Process employee reimbursements in a timely manner.
- Investigate and resolve expense report discrepancies.
- Maintain travel and entertainment expenses and ensure adherence to company guidelines.
The salary range for this position is $30 to $32.21 per hour. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
