Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead recurring month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial results are recorded accurately.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and alignment to accounting standards.
• Maintain and analyze general ledger activity to identify discrepancies, trends, and items requiring follow-up.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve outstanding variances in a timely manner.
• Complete bank reconciliations by matching cash activity, researching exceptions, and correcting differences.
• Support fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and related record maintenance.
• Aid in contract audit requests by gathering documentation, explaining account activity, and coordinating responses.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve reporting accuracy and reinforce effective accounting controls.

Qualifications

• Experience with general ledger and accounting software.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.

Skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Experience with Sage Intacct.
