Staff Accountant
Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial activity is captured accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, researching discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Support corporate tax processes by organizing documentation, assisting with filings, and helping ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Contribute to sales tax reporting activities, including data review, calculation support, and submission preparation.
- Aid in the preparation of corporate tax returns by compiling financial information and coordinating required schedules.
- Review accounting records for completeness and accuracy while helping strengthen day-to-day financial controls.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information needed for reporting, reconciliations, and tax-related deliverables.
Requirements
- Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting position with responsibility for core financial processes.
- Working knowledge of corporate tax principles, including exposure to corporate tax return preparation.
- Familiarity with sales tax reporting requirements and related compliance activities.
- Strong ability to prepare journal entries and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
- Experience reconciling and managing general ledger accounts with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in standard accounting practices and financial recordkeeping.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet recurring deadlines.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, and preferably CPA certification. They should have 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting or a similar role.
