Staff Accountant

About the Opportunity:The Staff Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial operations by independently performing recurring accounting tasks. This position supports financial integrity through transaction processing, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities, while identifying process improvements. The role contributes to reliable financial reporting and supports the organization’s mission through careful financial management. 3. Responsibilities:• Process accounts payable invoices, expense reports, and payment requests promptly and accurately.• Review invoice documentation for completeness, coding, and policy compliance.• Assist with weekly payments and vendor setup.• Respond to payment-related inquiries internally and externally.• Maintain organized financial records in accordance with audit requirements.• Prepare recurring journal entries and supporting schedules.• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies.• Maintain accurate financial records within the accounting system.• Support month-end and year-end close processes.• Assist with audits and financial reviews by preparing documentation and responding to requests.• Support finance operations, process improvements, and special projects.• Collaborate with finance team and cross-functional partners.• Participate in training to enhance accounting knowledge and skills.• Attend meetings, training sessions, and assist with evolving assignments as needed. 4. Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.• Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or finance.• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial processes, and internal controls.• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.• Ability to manage responsibilities independently and maintain confidentiality.• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or financial systems.• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to research and resolve routine discrepancies. 5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:• Salary range: $80,600 - $87,100 6.
