Responsibilities
- Property Management period-end closing activities and preparing monthly financial statements.
- Analyze and prepare monthly reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Supporting the Finance department in a variety of projects from start to finish to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- All specified accounting functions for properties in the designated portfolio to include:
- Recurring journal entries,
- Adjusting journal entries,
- Bank reconciliations (recs),
- Sub ledger account recs,
- Balance sheet recs,
- Equity,
- Loan and intercompany recs,
- Financial statement review and production on a monthly basis,
- Assistance with year-end package production for each property,
- Unit and lease level data input and adjustments,
- Assistance with utility billing and annual CAM recs,
- Review rent rolls monthly for accuracy,
- Assist with budget input and review,
- Other designated assignments from the Controller, Senior Accountant, Property Managers, and Owners.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Monthly comparison of budgets to financial statements.
- Aid in the preparation and accuracy of all general ledger accounts for multiple portfolios-Residential and Commercial.
- Reconcile all balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Review invoices and verify the accuracy of coding of accounts payable.
- Review rent rolls, accounts receivable, and aging reports.
- Positive Pay-Weekly AP Reconciliation.
- Reconcile Cash Report.
- FL Sales and Use Tax.
- Work with senior accountant.
- Assist with annual budgets.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
- 2-4 years of accounting experience in financial closing, reporting, and analysis for Property Management (Financial Property Management).
Qualifications

- Ability to implement new processes and procedures.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Yardi Software preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
