Staff Accountant
Description
The Accountant I supports the Financial Analysis & Reporting team by ensuring accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in month-end close, revenue and expense analysis, SAP journal entries, and management reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly revenue reports to management and field partners.
- Perform weekly SAP general ledger expense analysis and investigate discrepancies.
- Perform weekly revenue reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Aid with prepaid expense reviews and correcting entries as needed.
- Prepare and submit journal entries, including revenue accruals, indirect expense accruals, and reclassification entries.
- Prepare Excel data files used for monthly imports to our planning and reporting software Adaptive Planning in order to generate Corp and internal financial statements.
- Research and explain indirect expense and revenue variances during monthly P&L reviews.
- Support month end and year end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and internal control standards.
- Support special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- 3+ years Accounting/Financial Reporting Experience
- College Degree with Finance/Accounting major
- Transportation / Logistics industry experience a plus

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data reconciliation)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
- Strong computer and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced/demanding environment
- Candidate should be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

Pay
To support state laws, the base pay range for this role is $65,906 - $75,000. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on various factors such as job-related knowledge, and relevant skills and experience.
