Staff Accountant
SUMMARY
Duties include, but are not limited to, month end closing, financial analysis, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and assistance with budgets. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, and revenues. Candidate is responsible for other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Month end closing, financial analysis, financial reporting, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and assistance with budgets.
- Assisting daily audits of revenue that consists of table games, slot, complimentary services and items, food and beverage, cage and others when under the oversight of the Manager of Revenue Audit.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required or a combination of education and work experience.
- CPA or MBA a plus.
- Must have at least one year of experience in public and/or corporate accounting.
LANGUAGE ABILITY
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from guests and other employees of the Company in one-on-one and small group situations.
MATH ABILITY
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to become familiar with a variety of departments' concepts, practices and procedures. Ability to perform with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Microsoft Office experience required. Will utilize Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Candidate must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing as set forth by the PGCB, PHRC and Presque Isle Downs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct reports. Must be able to work independently with a variety of departments to successfully accomplish goals.
