Staff Accountant

This is a hybrid position requiring hybrid work in PA, KY, or RI.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze accounting transactions, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation.
- Prepare financial statements and internal/external financial reports.
- Support, monitor, and enhance internal controls over financial reporting.
- Perform accounting analyses and assist with resolving accounting-related issues.
- Develop and maintain supporting workpapers and documentation.
- Research accounting guidance and recommend solutions to business challenges.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
- Collaborate with business partners, leadership, and internal customers.
- Apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills to support business objectives.
- Build and maintain knowledge of accounting principles, company processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance, training, or support to less experienced team members, as appropriate based on level.
Requirements
Accountant
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business with at least three accounting courses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA or CMA exam eligible.
- 0-2 years of accounting-related experience, including internships or co-op experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Staff Accountant
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business with at least three accounting courses OR Bachelor's degree in Accounting with at least one year of accounting-related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 2-4 years of accounting-related experience.
- Experience in public accounting, SEC reporting, or Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA.
Senior Accountant
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business with at least three accounting courses and five years of accounting experience, OR Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 3-5 years of accounting-related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MBA, or other advanced business degree.
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Experience in utility accounting, public accounting, SEC reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to research technical accounting guidance.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
