Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update accounting records, files, and documentation
• Process and post accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Record daily retail and wholesale sales activity
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Aid with budget monitoring and expense reporting
• Support monthly and year-end closing processes
• Prepare documents for internal and external audits
• Aid with tax payments, returns, and compliance reporting
• Apply new accounting policies and ensure adherence to financial regulations
• Collaborate with the Senior Accountant to improve financial systems and workflows
• Provide general support to the finance department as needed

Qualifications

• 1+ year of accounting experience with an accounting degree OR 3+ years of experience without a degree
• QuickBooks experience required; familiarity with other accounting software is a plus
• Solid understanding of core accounting concepts and GAAP principles
• Experience in a retail or inventory-heavy industry preferred
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
• Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently
• Must be at least 21 years of age and eligible to work in the cannabis industry
