Staff Accountant

About the role

Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. The Role: Mach Industries is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting activities across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enter financial data within QuickBooks and internal accounting systems
• Support accounts payable processes including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordination
• Aid with account reconciliations, expense reporting, and transaction verification
• Prepare and maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
• Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting activities
• Aid with journal entries and financial data reviews under the guidance of the Corporate Controller
• Track project costs, labor charges, and program-related financial activity
• Generate reports and financial summaries for leadership and program teams
• Review accounting data for discrepancies or inconsistencies and escalate issues as needed
• Aid with budget preparation, forecasting activities, and internal financial analysis
• Aid with audit preparation and collection of supporting financial documentation
• Maintain spreadsheets, tracking systems, and finance-related administrative tools
• Provide operational and administrative support to the finance organization as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1+ years of accounting experience including internships or entry-level finance roles
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite or similar systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
