Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Aids in month-end close, including cash, escrow processing, and related reports.
• Maintains sound accounting methods and systems in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Prepares monthly bank account and general ledger reconciliations.
• Researches and assigns proper accounting codification to cash transactions.
• Records cash transactions journal entries to the GL.
• Aids divisions in tracking payments received from customers and records interdivisional journal entries.
• Reconciles treasury monthly escrow release reports to GL and provides explanations for discrepancies.
• Aids in preparation of accurate monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.
• Aids in monthly revenue entries, various month-end accruals, re-classifications, and allocation entries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
• One to three years of corporate or public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills – Microsoft Word and Excel.
• JD Edwards and Hyperion experience preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements

• This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office supplies weighing 25 pounds or less.
• Finger dexterity is required to operate computer keyboard, calculator, and telephone equipment.
