About the Role
The Staff Accountant within the Gross Margin team will support the accounting and financial reporting of gross margin, including revenue and cost of goods sold, as well as the integrity of the related balance sheet accounts for assigned subsidiary(s). This position will be responsible for preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, accrual calculations, and supporting month-end close and audit activities. The Staff Accountant will partner with cross-functional teams to research variances, resolve accounting issues, and contribute to process improvements that enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to develop a strong understanding of gross margin accounting while supporting Leaf Home’s continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Prepare routine journal entries in ERP/Accounting System while maintaining high documentation standards prescribed by company policies.
- Perform weekly general ledger interfacing, format and reconcile reports.
- Prepare assigned balance sheet account reconciliations in a timely manner adhering to account reconciliation guidelines.
- Maintain system subledger schedules (e.g., leases, fixed assets, prepaids), as assigned.
- Monitor specific general ledger accounts and/or vendors known to need adjusting to support data integrity and accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Provide data compilation support for audit requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements
- Undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree.
- 0+ years of experience.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Schedule
- No travel required (stationary work location).
- Additional and non-standard hours may be required (exempt).
- Additional hours will happen primarily during month-end close, during the first week of the month, though may be needed at other times as well.
Physical Requirements
- Normal office environment.
- Performs indoor work in a climate-controlled environment.
- Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
