Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1–4 years of accounting experience
- Real estate, construction, or property accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Excellent Excel skills
- Experience with ERP/accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP preferred
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- CPA or CPA-track is a plus
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger activity.
- Aid with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
- Aid with preparing monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Record accruals, prepaid expenses, and other recurring accounting transactions.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
- Aid with accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects.
- Prepare documentation for annual audits and tax reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Aid with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Perform additional accounting and finance projects as assigned.
