Qualifications & Skills

  • Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Relevant experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or corporate environments.
  • Technical proficiency: Strong understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP preferred), experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, D365, etc.), and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas).
  • Additional skills: Familiarity with tax compliance tools or software is a plus.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Prepare and assist with sales and use tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
  • Process and track tax payments across jurisdictions.
  • Maintain documentation to support filings and audits.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations (cash, accruals, tax accounts, etc.).
  • Investigate variances and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Support period-end close processes and ensure adherence to deadlines.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate and prepare property tax and franchise tax filings.
  • Track filing deadlines and ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Work with external advisors, where applicable, to support filings and documentation.
  • Avoidance of conflicts of interest and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of support schedules and documentation for corporate income tax returns (prepared by third-party advisors).
  • Liaise with external tax providers to ensure timely submission of required data.
  • Maintain supporting workpapers and audit trails.
  • Manage and track business license renewals across jurisdictions.
  • Ensure timely submission of renewals and associated payments.
  • Maintain a centralized tracker of license requirements and deadlines.
  • Process Improvement & Reporting: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automate processes.
  • Support documentation of accounting procedures and process flows.
  • Aid in preparing ad hoc financial reports and analysis for management.

Pay & Benefits

Base salary of $60,000
Remote work schedule
