Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reconcile general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts.
  • Provide support for accounting and financial processes to include accounts payable, purchasing, accounts receivable, and payroll systems.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes including accruals and adjustments.
  • Assist multiple project managers and staff daily.
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.
  • Create requested reports to increase efficiency in the accounting department.
  • Assist with upload reports for job costing, including but not limited to timecards, allowances, expenses incurred with Home Depot and Lowes’ credit cards, among others.
  • Develop expertise in using Concur’s reporting tools to disseminate information to Controller and Chief Financial Officer.
  • Perform special projects as directed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or financial support role.
  • Construction industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills with the ability to actively listen and effectively understand concerns.
  • Proficient in MS Office Professional.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices (e.g. Job Cost Accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, purchase orders, general ledger).
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize issues and monitor progress.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
