Staff Accountant
About the role
The Accountant position at Concentric is responsible for analyzing and reporting financial data to ensure the business runs efficiently. Key responsibilities include processing business transactions, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and providing support to employees, vendors, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Participate in key areas of the monthly financial close to ensure timely and accurate reporting on financial results.
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile various balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Assist employees, vendors, clients, and/or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.
- Review and update accounting processes and procedures as needed.
- Make financial recommendations.
- Collaborate with accounting team as necessary.
- Maintain confidential and secure storage of important financial information.
- Ensure all bookkeeping is accurate and adheres to state and federal law.
- Complete ad hoc projects and generate monthly reports as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- 3+ years of progressive and operational accounting experience.
- Strong Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint).
- Operatively comfortable with GAAP.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with SL or Counterpoint a plus.
- Experience with software system conversion is a plus.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Able to organize work, identify and complete critical tasks, and work independently with limited supervision.
- Able to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds across locations and departments.
- Able to clearly articulate ideas (both written and verbal) to both internal and external customers and to listen effectively to customer needs.
- Able to develop and maintain strong workplace relationships with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
- Willingness to take on new projects or assignments.
- Able to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
- Travel up to 5% of the time, some overnight travel required.
