About the role
The Staff Accountant – Financial Shared Services plays a critical role in building a centralized and scalable accounting function that supports the organization’s long-term growth. This position is responsible for delivering consistent, accurate, and high-quality financial information while advancing standardization, strengthening internal controls, and enhancing data governance across multiple business units. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, embraces continuous improvement, and seeks broad exposure across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable processing, and fixed asset management.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities with accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests, compliance activities, and documentation.
- Help develop, document, and maintain standardized accounting policies and procedures.
- Contribute to data governance efforts to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of financial information across systems and processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and improve reporting quality.
- Partner with teams across finance, operations, and shared services to improve process transparency and drive consistency.
- Serve as a responsible steward of company assets and financial data, promoting strong ethical and control-focused behaviors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.
- High level of integrity, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail.
