Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in Workday Financial as part of the monthly close process, including accruals, reclasses, and recurring entries
• Support timely and accurate completion of the close cycle in accordance with established deadlines
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations with audit-ready supporting documentation
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner, including identification and escalation of issues
• Perform cash reconciliations using bank and vendor data, and complete payroll-related reconciliations
• Prepare key accrual analyses and supporting schedules
• Perform variance analysis and provide explanations to support management reporting and financial review processes
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis for management
• Audit & Financial Reporting Support: Support quarterly reviews and annual audits by preparing PBC schedules and responding to auditor requests
• Audit & Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation, tie-out, and validation of financial statements and supporting disclosures
• Internal Controls & Compliance Support: Support compliance with internal controls over financial reporting (SOX), including execution, documentation, and audit support
• Adhere to company accounting policies and contribute to maintaining a strong control environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting or corporate accounting preferred)
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reconciliation skills
• Experience with Workday Financial or similar ERP systems preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, audit-ready work
• Prioritize tasks through completion in a deadline-driven environment
