About the role
Casper is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will support month-end close activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit preparation while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure accurate records and smooth processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare work papers for schedules for monthly reconciliations
- Prepare monthly journal entries and maintain workbooks for various areas including but not limited to: Operating expenses, utilities and rent, fixed assets, and other areas
- Perform account level analyses and reconciliations to support amounts
- Determine certain appropriate accruals for current period reporting
- Reconcile accrual schedules and prepaid schedules to the General Ledger
- Execute financial statement analysis and document meaningful explanations for fluctuations and analytics
- Assist in annual financial audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries and PBC lists
- Maintain documentation on the company’s accounting policies, best practices, and SOP’s
- Work cross functionally and coordinate within Finance team as well as with various business owners on month end close process, and help drive key system initiatives and improvements
- Assist with other ad hoc assignments as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar environment
- Willingness to extend themselves and assist other people
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience with an e-commerce and/or manufacturing entity
- Exposure to JDE, SAP, or other large ERP systems
- A mix of public and private experience
- CPA or CPA track (not required)

Pay
Targeted Annual Base Salary Range: $65,000-75,000 USD
Schedule
This is a hybrid role, requiring that you work 4 days per week from our Richmond, VA office.
