About the role
The Staff Accountant is responsible for producing accurate, timely monthly financial statements for a designated portfolio of properties and community associations. This role ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded, accounts are reconciled, and any discrepancies or variances are thoroughly analyzed and explained in accordance with established accounting principles and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Produces accurate, timely monthly financial statements for a designated portfolio of properties and community associations.
- Ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded, accounts are reconciled, and any discrepancies or variances are thoroughly analyzed and explained in accordance with established accounting principles and company policies.
- Delivers dependable financial reporting, assists with budget development and forecasting, and helps safeguard the financial health and stability of the communities within their portfolio.
- Supports informed decision-making through attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Experience with community association management systems is a plus.
Skills
- Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Understanding of financial statement analysis.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
