About the role
A Staff Accountant at Breeze Airways will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily activities and month-end close process
- Key member of the month-end close team – prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and perform flux analysis
- Work closely with the accounting team to drive process improvement
- Assist in the preparation and planning for the annual financial statement audit
- Development of policies and processes that will scale with company growth
- Work collaboratively across teams, providing actionable insights to help drive optimal business decisions
- Complete ad-hoc tasks and project work as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- 4-year degree with a concentration in Accounting
- 0-3 years of overall accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- An energetic and positive attitude with a hands-on mentality
- Ability to understand and articulate data and financial results
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Complete projects on time with minimal supervision, ability to work varied hours when necessary to meet deadlines
- Must have authorization to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to fixed assets and inventory accounting
- Experience in ERP’s like Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, handling documents, and operating standard office equipment
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching within an office environment
- Clear verbal and written communication, requiring adequate speech, hearing, and vision
