About the role
The Staff Accountant supports the Controller in the execution of day-to-day accounting functions across the business. This role provides support across accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, asset management, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform full cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Provide month-end close support.
- Assist with fleet management activities including registrations and reconcilement of maintenance and repair expenses.
- Assist with preparation of weekly/monthly cash flow reports.
- Assist with tracking asset additions and disposals and depreciation reconcilements.
- Assist with sales tax filings across multiple states while maintaining supporting documentation for compliance and audits.
- Assist with expense reconcilement and data analysis.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned to support/collaborate with administrative and operational teams.
- Ensure all accounting activities are performed in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with internal and external audit preparation, including providing supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Occasional travel to branch locations may be required.
- Experience with intercompany transactions and multi-entity accounting preferred.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- 2–4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Working knowledge of general ledger, AP/AR, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
