Staff Accountant
Description
Manage project accounting activities for multiple active construction projects
Review project budgets, job costs, commitments, and change orders for accuracy
Monitor project cost performance and assist with variance analysis
Prepare and post journal entries and support month end and year end close processes
Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and balance sheet accounts
Assist with revenue recognition and percentage of completion accounting
Track project billings, subcontractor pay applications, and retainage balances
Partner with project managers and operations teams to review project financials
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
Prepare financial reports, project profitability reports, and ad hoc analyses
Support audit requests and documentation preparation
Support process improvements and accounting system initiatives
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction, engineering, real estate, or project based environments
- Understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with job costing, project accounting, or construction accounting preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups
- Experience working within ERP or accounting systems

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
