Staff Accountant

Who are we?

We are ARCO, a Family of Construction Companies. We are looking for a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our team in our Kansas City, MO office.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Assist controller team in reconciling all month end reports to the general ledger.
• Aid in preparing and monitoring budgets.
• Design and build Microsoft Excel based pivot tables.
• Assist in reconciling bank accounts on a monthly basis.
• Process expense report postings daily.
• Aid in intercompany cash reconciliations on a bi-weekly basis.
• Aid controller teams with a variety of ad hoc requests as they arise.
• Create and verify reporting provided quarterly to various stakeholders.
• Aid in various aspects of month end close and the preparation of financial statements for multiple entities.

Necessary Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 1-3 years' of related experience.
• Public accounting experience a plus.
• General knowledge of payroll concepts and tax withholdings.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically needing advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Viewpoint Software or an equivalent ERP system.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
