About the role

The Staff Accountant is a key member of the Controller’s organization, responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial accounting and reporting. This role manages month-end close processes and provides critical analysis to regional and corporate leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close activities, including ledger account analysis and the preparation of complex journal entries.
  • Conduct detailed research and internal reporting to provide actionable financial insights for Division and Corporate stakeholders.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements and execute high-priority ad-hoc projects.
  • Act as the primary liaison for shared services (AP, Billing, Fixed Assets), ensuring seamless operational alignment per the RACI matrix.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years financial accounting and/or financial reporting experience.
  • Solid understanding of general accounting matters and IFRS/GAAP.
  • Strong 'client service' mindset and ability to work well with internal customers and external parties.
  • Capable of prioritizing responsibilities on a daily basis to meet required deadlines.
  • Exhibits customer-focused behavior such as building positive relationships and strives to understand customer's needs, both internal and external.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations diplomatically and professionally.
  • Apply analytical skills through critical thinking with an ability to perform creative problem-solving.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Google Suite, Microsoft Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP and/or ERP systems.
