Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger activity with minimal supervision
- Own and manage portions of the month-end and year-end close process
- Analyze financial statements and identify discrepancies, trends, and areas requiring adjustment
- Recommend appropriate accounting treatment based on GAAP and firm standards
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and support documentation
- Serve as a point of contact for assigned client workstreams
- Communicate financial results and explain accounting or tax positions to clients
- Collaborate with senior team members on complex engagements while managing day-to-day execution
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment in applying accounting and tax principles
- Identify process improvements and contribute to operational efficiencies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant experience
- Experience: 2+ years of relevant accounting or tax experience (internships applicable)
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software (UltraTax) preferred
- Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to apply accounting principles and exercise professional judgment; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication skills, including client interaction; ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
