Staff Accountant 2 - Hybrid Role

Essential Functions

• Prepare standard journal entries and reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts.
• Review coding and classification weekly to ensure proper AP entry.
• Support Staff Accountant 1 with accruals.
• Record biweekly payroll and allocate benefits; coordinate with HR to ensure timely HSA deposits.
• Own fixed assets, record monthly depreciation, and maintain PPE roll forward schedules.
• Support the Project Manager with SCIP project budget vs. actual tracking, including expense, labor, and contractor costs.
• Prepare AR invoices for shipments of cathode, concentrate, and scrap.
• Aid with weekly and monthly internal reporting.
• Provide financial data and analysis as needed.
• Support audit documentation and internal control processes.
• Maintain organized documentation for internal and external audit support.

Competencies

• Proficiency in accounting software; QBO experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills (lookups, formulas).
• High accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.

Physical Demands

• Largely sedentary role.
• Routine filing required.
• The ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Work Environment

• Clerical, office setting.
• Uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• Full-time position.
• Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Potential for hybrid work.
• The successful candidate will be required to work in the office three days per week during the first ninety days of employment, at which time other hybrid options will be discussed.

Travel

• Occasional travel between local mine properties may be expected for this position.
