About the Role

The Multi-Skill Plant Operator (MSO) is responsible for the operation of stabilizer facilities, monitoring, and optimizing production and costs at one of our stabilizer facilities in Kenedy, TX. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring residence or relocation within 40 miles of Kenedy, TX.

The Eagle Ford tight oil trend in south Texas represents our second-most prolific unconventional resource development. We hold approximately 489,000 net acres in the Eagle Ford, with a focus on full-field development using customized well spacing and stacking patterns. In 2025, we operated seven rigs and three frac crews, averaging 390 MBOED net production.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all ConocoPhillips Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE), OSHA, and Process Safety Management (PSM) rules.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of condensate stabilizing facilities.
  • Monitor stabilizers and equipment to optimize performance.
  • Work a twelve-hour rotating shift, with occasional overtime during turnarounds, upsets, start-ups, or high workload demands.
  • Load and unload condensate and natural gas liquid (NGL) trucks, and run condensate samples (e.g., Reid vapor pressure test).
  • Operate oil stabilizer trains, chemical and transfer pumps, compressors, vapor recovery units, fuel-fired reboilers, NGL loading LACT units, condensate unloading LACT units, and condensate LACT units for third-party systems.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Instrument & Electrical (I&E) teams to optimize plant instrumentation controls.
  • Build strong teamwork with Eagle Ford Operations and third-party truck hauling partners.
  • Check rotating equipment to maintain normal operating levels, pressures, and flow on separation equipment, adjusting automatic and manual controls as needed.
  • Gauge tanks for comparison and verification of level indications in the control room.
  • Enter daily production reports, field notes, end-of-shift, and hitch handover entries.
  • Maintain chemical injection rates as necessary.
  • Monitor and optimize process equipment runtime and costs within stabilizer facilities.
  • Execute facility walk-throughs, management of changes (MOCs), and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs).
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures outlined in the ConocoPhillips Management System.
  • Troubleshoot operations problems, maintain housekeeping, and keep accurate records.
  • Perform minor hands-on process equipment repairs.

Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Current/valid driver’s license.
  • 3+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Willing and able to travel 5% of the time annually.
  • Currently reside or be willing to relocate within a 40-mile driving radius of Kenedy, TX.
  • Ability to work in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions, wear appropriate safety equipment, climb heights up to 25 feet, use hand tools, work weekends, and be on call.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree and/or trade certificate or higher in Production Technology, Process Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of direct experience with oil and gas production practices, equipment, and terminology.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word.
  • Basic knowledge of stabilization principles, gas and liquid measurement, product drying and sweetening, mechanics, and instrumentation.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to prepare accurate and legible reports.

Schedule

  • Twelve-hour rotating shift (7 days on, 7 days off).
  • Occasional overtime required during facility turnarounds, upsets, start-ups, or high workload demands.
  • On-call availability and weekend work required.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in field and facility environments with exposure to harsh weather, noise, heights, confined spaces, and energized electrical equipment.
  • Daily travel to different geographic locations.
  • Climb heights up to 25 feet to gauge tanks.
  • Walk, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull; use hand tools for minor repairs.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to strict safety protocols.
