About the Role

As the Mainline – Field Operator, you will be responsible for the operation of designated central facilities, including monitoring and optimizing production and cost. This position is located in Kenedy, TX, and is classified as Safety Sensitive.

Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate within 40 miles of Kenedy, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all ConocoPhillips Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE), OSHA, and Process Safety Management (PSM) rules.
  • Start up and shut down central facilities under normal and emergency conditions.
  • Troubleshoot operations problems, maintain housekeeping, and keep accurate records.
  • Monitor central facility performance data through Cygnet.
  • Gauge tanks for comparison and verification of level indications in the control room.
  • Maintain chemical injection rates as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Eagle Ford Operations teams and third-party truck hauling partners.
  • Conduct handover processes and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR)/commissioning of new equipment and facilities.
  • Assist with enforcing proper policies and procedures.
  • Operate a company-provided vehicle to perform job duties.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Current/valid Driver’s License.
  • 3 or more years of experience in unconventional field operations.
  • Basic understanding of gas compression, dehydration, gas and liquid measurement, mechanics, and instrumentation.
  • Currently reside or be willing to relocate within a 40-mile driving radius of Kenedy, TX.
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to:
    • Work in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions.
    • Wear appropriate special safety equipment.
    • Walk, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull.
    • Use hand tools to make minor repairs.
    • Work weekends and be on call.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree and/or trade certificate or higher in Production Technology, Process Technology, or related technical field.
  • 5 or more years of direct experience with oil and gas production practices, equipment, and terminology.
  • 1 or more years of direct experience with dehy, compression, and VRU operations.
  • 3 or more years of experience with blowcase equipment.
  • Intermediate proficiency in PSSR and MOC processes.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to prepare accurate and legible reports.
  • Inclination and interest in training and mentoring others.
  • Proactively seeks and implements new ways of improving business processes.
  • Responds inventively, flexibly, and positively to challenges and demands.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in field and facility environments with exposure to harsh weather, noise, heights, confined spaces, and energized electrical equipment.
  • Travel to several different geographic locations daily.
  • Climb heights up to 25 feet to gauge tanks.
  • Walk, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull; use hand tools for minor repairs.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and strictly adhere to safety protocols.
  • Work weekends and be on call.
