About the role
The Housing Opportunity Center is expanding its growing housing program to better respond to the needs in the Greater New Bedford and Bristol County area. We are seeking a motivated individual who can bring new skills to our team.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with eligible families to assist them in becoming financially stable and secure in permanent housing while addressing any barriers to success.
- Contribute to a dynamic team dedicated to serving people in need.
- Navigate public resources and demonstrate empathy to understand and relate to the people we serve.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Human Services preferred
- MA driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Experience or knowledge of RAFT, HomeBASE programs, and experience with the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Department of Housing and Community Development, and HUD
- Demonstrated understanding of resources and systems available through governmental, non-profit, and private sectors
- Sensitivity and responsiveness to people of diverse backgrounds
Skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Computer skills with the ability to perform daily tasks within Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Excellent documentation and file keeping skills
- Ability to speak Haitian Creole preferred

Pay
\$22.00 - \$24.00 per hour (salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience), dependent upon funding; 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
