Housing Stabilization Case Manager

About the role

This position is responsible for providing support to individuals in need through various human services programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and support to clients in the human services field.
• Work with clients on an individual and group level to help them achieve stability.
• Use motivational interviewing techniques to assist clients in setting personal goals.
• Collaborate with community meetings to gather and share relevant information.
• Exercise good judgment and maintain a professional demeanor in complex situations.
• Utilize computer skills for case documentation, data entry, and timesheet management.
• Adapt to a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• One year of experience in human services or a bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
• Experience working with mentally and/or substance-abused individuals.
• Experience working with medically fragile individuals.
• Experience with the DCFS system.
• Valid driver’s license, safe and reliable vehicle, and the ability to transport clients and their children.
• Household budgeting skills.
• Understanding of continuing education options and public assistance programs.
• Proficiency in English (spelling, punctuation, grammar).

Qualifications

• Associate degree in human services or related field.
• Combination of education, training, and experience in the field may be considered.
