About the role

The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking Stability Support Specialists to assist in the Child Welfare Program. These positions are limited duration until June 30, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Transport Youth: Provide transportation for youth to school, appointments, and social activities.
• Supervise Youth: Supervise youth in the office, community, or in home settings.
• Cookordinate Activities: Coordinate activities that support youth engagement.
• Gather Information: Collect and document information from case providers, clients, family members, schools, and other relevant sources.
• Safeguard Safety and Well-being: Safeguard the safety and well-being of youth.
• Ensure Daily Activities: Ensure the safety, hygiene, well-being, and care of youth, including school attendance and appointments.
• Provide Behavioral Support: Offer redirection and guidance to youth as needed.

Requirements

• A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
• One year of experience working in a human services or behavioral health setting.
• An associate degree in any field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience with engaging diverse individuals, de-escalating tense situations, and maintaining boundaries while effectively communicating needs to caseworkers and coordinators.
• Experience with collaborating with co-staff and other team members, ensuring seamless care and support for children and families.
• Experience with clearly communicating with team members and leads to ensure efficient operations and quality care.
• Experience with applying equitable practices and trauma-informed care in interactions with clients.
• Experience with adjusting and flexing seamlessly to changing environments and shifting priorities.
• Experience with identifying problems and generating effective solutions.
