SSVF Rapid Re-housing Program Manager

Supervise a team of Stabilization Case Managers and the Shallow Subsidy Coordinator in the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program to facilitate rapid re-housing and stabilization services for Veterans transitioning from homelessness into permanent housing. Ensure adherence to best practices including Housing First, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care. This position is primarily based in Boston, MA, with weekly travel to NECHV’s Haverhill, MA office.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Stabilization Case Managers and the Shallow Subsidy Coordinator, ensuring services align with best practices and SSVF grant requirements.
  • Oversee rapid entry into permanent housing, stabilization, and homelessness prevention services, coordinating with internal teams, subcontracting agencies, and other providers.
  • Assign caseloads and ensure Veterans are quickly connected to their assigned Stabilization Case Manager and Healthcare Navigator.
  • Ensure SSVF team compliance with all required training and document participation.
  • Train team members on housing search, subsidized housing applications, and landlord communications.
  • Coordinate landlord recruitment and communication to facilitate rapid housing placement.
  • Develop expertise in the SSVF Program Guide and ensure team adherence.
  • Oversee and train team members on housing inspection processes.
  • Meet weekly with the Director of Housing and Stabilization Services to review staff performance, caseloads, and services.
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement systems ensuring the SSVF team has resources for housing search, case management, health navigation, and stabilization services.
  • Review and audit program documentation (service notes, Integrated Service Plans) for compliance with funding and program requirements.
  • Assist with site visit and audit preparation.
  • Maintain records and database information for reporting and program tracking.
  • Intervene or provide guidance during crisis situations as needed.
  • Provide direct stabilization, housing search, and case management services as needed.
  • Collaborate with management to integrate services and reduce programmatic duplication.
  • Attend program, department, and regional meetings (e.g., Boston COC Veterans Work Group, SSVF Regional meetings).
  • Perform other SSVF duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA in Human Services or related field.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience with Veteran populations, mental health, substance use disorders, subsidized housing, and/or homelessness.
  • Understanding of and commitment to Housing First, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Strong case management, housing search, and community resource navigation skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic databases and computers.
  • Strong crisis intervention and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel in greater Boston and Merrimack Valley areas and work in the community.
  • Comfort working with multicultural, homeless populations facing complex challenges.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and boundary-setting skills.
  • Ability to write clear progress notes and person-centered service plans.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and departments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of military culture.

Pay

$65,000 – $70,000
