About the role
Pan American Square, a DePaul Community Residence-Single Room Occupancy (CR-SRO) Program, seeks a dedicated mental health professional to join our team. The Assistant Residential Services Coordinator will assist the Program Director in enhancing residents' autonomy, quality of life, and recovery process.
Responsibilities
- Develops the overall Residential Service Plan with the resident and their support network, identifying needs and desires.
- Provides teaching, monitoring, and recovery-oriented supports, including but not limited to Assertiveness / Self-Advocacy Training, Community Integration / Resource Development, Daily Living Skills, Health Services, Medication Management / Training, Parenting Training, Rehabilitative Counseling, Skill Development, Socialization, Substance Abuse Services, Symptom Management.
- Ensures comprehensive planning for residents’ admission, ongoing services, and discharge, maintaining up-to-date plans according to standards of practice and New York State Office of Mental Health guidelines.
- Counsels residents during quarterly reviews of the Residential Service Plan, assessing progress and making necessary revisions.
- Maintains accurate and timely resident files, documenting progress notes, updating service plans, psychiatric and medical records, and other relevant information.
- Schedules and arranges annual physical, eye, and dental appointments for residents, ensuring transportation when necessary.
- Makes appropriate referrals to community service providers and ensures continuity of care, including mandated linkages such as Mental Health court, AOT, probation, etc.
- Liaises with residents’ clinical providers, contacting them monthly to monitor mental health and well-being.
- Encourages residents to establish connections with family and community, and to develop new interests and supports.
- Assists in the admission process by providing tours and lunch visits to prospective residents.
- Maintains resident confidentiality and demonstrates a caring, positive attitude towards all residents, staff, guests, and service providers.
- Performs safe transporting of residents when needed, adhering to safety rules and regulations.
- Performs any other duties necessary for the effective operation of the program.
Requirements
- One of the following three criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field
- Associates degree in a Human Services field plus two (2) years residential experience
- High School diploma / GED plus four (4) years full-time residential experience
- A clean New York State driving record as outlined in DePaul’s personnel policy.
- Must be at least Eighteen (18) years of age.

- Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of community resources and services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $22.05/hour.
Schedule
Saturday 3pm-11:30pm
Sunday 3pm-11:30pm
Monday 3pm-11:30pm
Tuesday 1pm-9:30pm
Friday 11am-7:30pm
