About the role

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help establish and scale our client's Google Cloud Platform (GCP) SRE practice. This is a unique opportunity to join a team during its formative stage and play a key role in building the operational foundation, automation frameworks, and reliability processes that will support long-term cloud operations.

Responsibilities

• Create runbooks, define operational standards, develop automation, and help build the SRE function from the ground up.
• Transition into a traditional SRE position focused on reliability engineering, automation, observability, scalability, and platform optimization as the organization matures.

• Skills: Kubernetes, Cloud, Python, Automation, Terraform
• Top Skills: Automation & Engineering
• Additional Skills & Qualifications: Automation & Engineering, Strong automation and software engineering experience, Hands-on development experience with Python and Java, Experience creating tools, scripts, and automated workflows to improve operational efficiency, Experience with Terraform is highly preferred, though the client is willing to provide training for candidates with strong automation backgrounds.
• Experience: Proven experience in a true SRE environment, Strong technical and engineering mindset with demonstrated experience solving reliability, scalability, and performance challenges, Experience building solutions and improving platforms rather than simply maintaining existing systems, Knowledge of monitoring, observability, incident response, and reliability best practices, Cloud Platforms Experience: With At Least One Major Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform (GCP) preferred, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure)

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $66.73 - $66.73/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
