SRE Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
• Knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment
• Familiar with development tools such as Jenkins, Git/BitBucket, Jira, etc.
• Knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
• 5 plus years of experience with server based Operating Systems such as Windows 2016/2019 (Red Hat Linux/Unix a plus)
• 5 plus years with database systems such as Oracle and SQL Server
• Practical working experience with high availability (clusters, failover) and networking (latency, load balancing, firewall) concepts
• Expertise in at least one technology stack designing, coding, testing, and delivering software
• Experience with reporting, business intelligence and visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, PowerBI, Cognos, etc.)
• Experience with functional, user acceptance and performance testing
• Ability to quickly develop subject matter expertise and working knowledge of business processes
• Experience working with third-party applications and integrations
• Familiarity with observability practices such as white and black box monitoring, service level objective alerting, and telemetry collection using tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog and Splunk
• Recognize and eliminate toil through systems engineering or automation, and implement observability patterns to improve service level indicators, objectives monitoring, and alerting solutions

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
